Booking terms
How private performances and event bookings usually work.
Last updated: 12 September 2026
These terms outline how bookings with Sunil Swaroop (“I”, “me”) typically work for weddings, private parties, corporate events and similar performances in the UK. Specific fees, set lengths and other details will be confirmed in writing for your event. Where a written confirmation or invoice differs from this page, the written confirmation prevails.
1. Enquiries are not a booking
Submitting a form or email is an enquiry only. A booking is made when I confirm the date, fee and key details in writing (email is fine) and any agreed deposit has been received.
2. Fees and deposit
Fees depend on date, location, duration, format (solo or with musical friends) and other requirements. I will quote after reviewing your enquiry. A non-refundable deposit may be required to hold the date; the balance is due by the date stated on the confirmation or invoice (often before the event). Payment methods will be confirmed in writing. Card payments are not taken through this website.
3. Cancellation and date changes
- If you cancel after a deposit is paid, the deposit is usually retained unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- If you need to change the date, I will try to accommodate subject to availability; a new confirmation may be needed.
- If I must cancel for reasons within my control, I will refund fees paid for that booking (including the deposit). I am not responsible for your other event costs (venue, catering, travel for guests, and so on).
4. Travel and location
I am based in Reading and travel across the UK (and internationally by arrangement). Travel, overnight stay or other expenses may apply for longer distances and will be agreed in advance where relevant.
5. Performance format and timing
Typical formats include sets such as 2 × 45 minutes or 2 × 60 minutes, or another structure we agree. Running order, breaks and any guest participation (for example karaoke tracks) should be agreed beforehand where possible. Overtime may be charged if available and agreed on the day or in advance.
6. Venue and technical needs
Unless we agree otherwise, I can provide a PA suitable for small to medium audiences, plus guitar and vocals. The venue should provide a stool or chair, space for guitar and speaker, a small table, nearby power, and for outdoor sets: shade, a flat surface and power. Please tell me about noise limits, curfews or sound restrictions early.
7. Repertoire and content
I perform Bollywood, ghazals, light music, bhajans and English material, plus originals such as Do Pyaali Chai. Special song requests are welcome and will be accommodated where practical; they are not guaranteed unless confirmed in writing.
8. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure to perform a booking because of events beyond reasonable control (for example severe illness, extreme weather making travel unsafe, venue closure, or government restrictions). We will try in good faith to reschedule or agree a fair outcome.
9. Recording and photography
Guests may usually take personal photos and short clips. Professional recording, livestreaming or commercial use of the performance needs prior agreement. I may take or request photos for my own portfolio unless you ask me not to.
10. Privacy
Personal details from enquiries are handled as described in the Privacy notice.
11. Governing law
These booking terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
